Brett Jolly’s Thought for Today (Should women fear men?)

This all stemmed from a topic that was spread recently through TikTok. Women were asked this simple question: “If you were trapped in the woods, would you rather be trapped with a man or a bear?” Many of the women chose the bear instead of a man, and many men are shocked by this answer. My daughter asked me that same question and even though I agreed with her I think she still seemed to believe I thought differently. First off, “if” women think this way then the focus should “NOT be on why they chose this answer.’ Instead the focus should be on men and “what we are doing to make them feel this way.” If you look at power couples in the media (star couples) very few scenarios are looking good right now. Couples like Will and Jada Smith, Jay-Z and Beyonce, Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union have had their problems listed on social media. Of course, not all men are the same (but the actions of some may well have an impact on the views for the rest). What can men do to make women feel better? We can start by displaying more respect to them. We can also listen to them more and become less controlling. Some of the responses women gave were good ones. For instance, they said if a pool had six sharks but only one of them ate humans would you jump in it? That’s a very good point. I think we all should have a public dialogue to air out what we feel. Men need to hear women (and women need to hear men as well). A lot of times we learn from movies and social media and that could often be the wrong influence. Racism is learned and so is proper behavior. We need to value our women because our race cannot survive without them. We also need to give them more equality. I would love to see more women in leadership. There is a lot that we all need to consider. This article is not designed to bash men, but hopefully make them realize. We don’t need to be “sharks.” Thank you for checking out my Thought for Today and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.
