Brett Jolly’s Daily Thought (Was this predicted before?)

I know a lot of theories come up when a crisis like this happens. Some of them are basically ‘conspiracy’ theories and may not be able to be proven at all. However, I would like for you to examine a book by Dean Koontz. The book was entitled “The eyes of Darkness” and was written in 1981. This book was supposed to be a ‘fictional novel’ and yet people are becoming more aware of it’s contents today. Some of the details in the book are rather striking to today’s situation. Here is an excerpt from it:

There are a couple of points that warrant studying. First, this book refers to a ‘man made chemical weapon disease’ that originated in Wuhan, China. This Corona virus thing allegedly originated in Wuhan. If that isn’t enough of a coincidence, the book says that this disease surfaces in the year 2020. That is a little eery for me. To be fair, there are some parts of this that actually don’t match up. The disease that Koontz refers to has a  100 % mortality rate, which this current virus does not appear to have. It is also supposed to kill everyone who gets it within 48 hours (which also is not the way this virus works). He also gave it a different name. While these other factors cannot be ignored we must also keep in mind that this book was written almost 40 years ago. It is possible that Koontz was just smart enough to know that a lot of suspicious activity originated from Wuhan, but was he also smart enough to predict the exact year as well? I say that you should check out the passage in the book and come to your own conclusions. I don’t believe that we know all the facts about this disease. I feel that world governments don’t tell us all the details of world events exactly. In fact, I believe that many of us are misled or even lied to. The thing is, we need to be smart enough to examine a situation beyond the surface. People can tell us anything, but that doesn’t mean that what they say is always true. If you have been lied to once, then you can be lied to again and again. In Koontz’s book this disease will dissipate away rather quickly. Let’s see if that speculation holds up. It seems to  have disappeared in China, so maybe there could be some truth to that. At this point, time will tell. Thank you for checking out my Daily Thought, and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.

Brett Jolly’s Daily Thought (What if?)

Currently we know how this epidemic is playing out. People are urged to quarantine and stay socially distant from each other. Government and unemployment checks have been approved but no money has arrived yet. At this point what do you think will happen? Sales of guns and weapons have gone up, which seems to implicate a realm of fear for most. How dangerous can this be? If you just “think” someone is coming to break into your house, how prone are you to shoot him or her without knowing for sure? Also, considering the massive amount of unemployment, how long do you think people can hold up on the debt they owe? For instance, rents and mortgages will suffer greatly if people are now unemployed. What if “everyone” stopped paying them? Of course, credit ratings would probably suffer significantly, but then again this would be the case for just about everyone. What if everyone stopped working while siting a dangerous health hazard? Banks would close, food stores would close, gas stations would close. While this seems like a rather extreme scenario it is still quite possible that this could play out. What if all of society just “quit?” What would you do? Right now we are not that far from this situation. Would the government try to subsidize everyone? Can they? What about those who are imprisoned? They are in danger of risking a major health catastrophe yet what can you do? The humane thing would be to let them out. However, unleashing a non working criminal element onto society can be dangerous for us all. It may be time to ponder the ‘what if’s.’ While you don’t want anything bad to happen it may be time to at least ‘prepare’ for it. Are you prepared? Thank you for checking out my Daily Thought, and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.

Brett Jolly’s Daily Thought ( Performing with Rick Springfield (“Jessie’s girl”)

Last year I was performing at the Hard Rock in Atlantic City, New Jersey. I was playing with  this one group and we were performing there regularly.  One night this one guy comes up to the band and everyone was snapping pictures. I had absolutely no reason for why that was happening. Next thing I know this guy wants to perform  a tune with us. No big thing for me. I will play for anyone. He tells me that he wanted to do “Superstition” by Stevie Wonder. I will play any and every song asked of me. We played the song and people were still snapping lots of pictures. I had absolutely no idea who this guy was. After the song was over I was told that we just jammed with Rick Springfield. He was best known for his big hit “Jessie’s Girl.” I thought that was cool. Anyway, I just happened to find the video for this occasion, and I wanted to share it with you today. I hope  you don’t mind. I am the one wearing the blue t-shirt playing guitar. Thank you so much for checking out my Daily Thought and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.

Brett Jolly’s Daily Thought (“Broke?” Check out my song and video)

If you have been suffering through this crisis, then please understand that you are not alone. A lot of people are having money issues, and while these issues are nothing to joke about I am going to joke about them ‘anyway.’ A while ago I made up a song and video about having no money. Since a lot of people are in this situation now, I figured it might be a good time to rehash and repost this song. Please do not get offended. This video is only designed to put a smile on your face. None of us can help the circumstances we are in right now. It is good to stress less and have a little levity now and then. If you are feeling the economic crunch from all of this, then it might be beneficial for you to view this video. This is my song and video simply entitled “Broke.” You are more than welcome to check it out. Thank you for checking out my Daily Thought, and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.

Brett Jolly’s Daily Thought (Do you know someone with the Corona virus?)

I just tried to post a video interview of a friend of mine who just contracted the Corona virus. Unfortunately, it didn’t work on this blog site. However, I can tell you that this lady was riding planes a lot due to her new job and she believes she got the disease through her travel. She said that her throat felt like it was sore or burning. She also said she had problems breathing. She said that she could not hold her breath for at least 10 seconds. She is a devoutly religious woman and she knows that God will help her get through this. She mentioned some things that she felt everyone needed to do.  Certain things like drink hot liquids will help. Also make sure to drink a lot of water. Spray and clean everything. I can’t remember all of what she said, but if you have no clue then just “google the information.” I tried to post her video earlier because I think it is beneficial to hear from someone actually going through the illness. You may personally know of someone. People need to take this disease seriously. My daughter has already told me to stay inside. While for some things I have to venture outside (like food) I don’t plan to spend a lot of time in any public gathering spots. Money wise I am holding on just like everyone else. If the government is going to pay us then I will simply wait for the check to arrive. This is a trying time for us all. Please do not take this disease for granted. Thank you for checking out my Daily Thought and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.

Brett Jolly’s Daily Thought (If this keeps up, what ‘could’ happen?)

Right now the world is changing. Money does not have the significance it once had. While we still have the desire for money everyone seems to be in the same boat right about now. Except for essentials, no one is going out much. Businesses are closing and public gatherings have been cancelled. If this virus continues for a long while then what could that mean? Will the economy have to start all over again? For those people who are struggling this could be a new chance. If you have been down on your luck before then at least now you have lots of company. If you are smart enough then hopefully you won’t just ‘sit idle’ during this time. Plan the things you would love to put in place. Once this is complete a lot of businesses will have to start over. This might be the ideal time to put something in place. Right now most things have been switched to being internet based. The internet is our way to stay connected without dealing with the fear of infection or contamination. If you can manage to start up a good internet related business then it could prove to be very beneficial. For instance, right now if you started a surgical mask online store then you would probably be super rich very soon. Good business involves proper timing and expectancy in your market. Starting a dine in restaurant right now would probably not be good timing. Owning a huge convention center for mass gatherings would probably not be a good idea as well. All of this may change once this outbreak is over, but until then I just can’t see it. People still need to eat. Starting up a food delivery service could be extremely cool. Just examine all the changes that are happening, and come up with your idea. You can make good things happen from bad circumstances if you apply good rational thought behind it. Our world is changing, and while it may be drastic we have to adapt to it the best way we can. Don’t think that you have to stay home and do nothing while staring at your walls. Think, think, and think some more….You might find greater opportunity now than you ever could before. Thank you for checking out my Daily Thought and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.

Brett Jolly’s Daily Thought (So what exactly is social distancing?)

To be honest, I am not very sure of what social distancing is. However, I do know I have heard a lot of this term since the Corona Virus came about. My belief is that “social distancing” is being social while keeping a safe distance from others. During this crisis that seems admirable, but how pertinent would it be if we didn’t have this virus?  Can you imagine if married couples (or couples living together) decided they wanted to socially distance themselves from each other? When you think about it that might not be such a bad idea for some folk, especially when you have disagreements. What about socially distancing yourself from your boss at work? I think a lot more people might like that idea as well. Some may like to do that every day. How about if a police officer pulls you over? Would you like to socially distance yourself away from him or her? Speaking of which, how many police officers do you think want to encounter any lawbreakers right now? If I was a police officer right now, I might just give everyone a free pass. Once we finally conquer this disease I think a lot of people will be very happy. However, it feels like the term “social distancing’ may be here to stay. People don’t hug much today. In fact, people don’t even shake hands. I think the new custom greeting is to simply touch elbows. That is fine for now, but will you keep up this procedure once this is all over? This epidemic has changed all of our lifestyles. Once it is over, will you go back to shaking hands and hugging? If you are not familiar with the term “social distancing” then I suggest you read up on it. If it is not a part of your current vocabulary then you might want to incorporate it. Thank you all for checking out my Daily Thought. As always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.

Brett Jolly’s Daily Thought (So what’s happening with the music scene during this virus?)

Obviously just about everything is shut down right now. Public gatherings have been nixed for the concept of safety and precaution. I’m not sure if any of this will work. Each day I hear about more and more details about what is going on. I hate to check out the news now. As a professional musician I have to ponder the music scene. A lot of my gigs have been cancelled and I have no idea when things will start back up again. Even my church (which vowed to stay open) will be streaming live this Sunday morning. Since I have not heard from them I don’t know if they need me to come in or not. If they do  I am prepared to play. If not, then I will most certainly sleep late this Sunday morning. What about the major music artists who do concerts? They rely on the income from those concerts to make a living. Just about all artists who tour will be put on the back burner because this epidemic is major. We are just like everyone else right now. The economy, the stock market and social interaction are all down now. Our standard of living has changed drastically. Everyone needs to hold on until government relief comes. They are now pondering letting inmates out of jail. That is the humane thing to do, but that will not make any of us feel safer. An inmate with no job, no money, and no chance will most likely resort to crime in order to survive. In Philadelphia you will no longer be arrested for vandalism, theft, prostitution, bad checks or burglary. That is scary. Musically, Im sure that artists like Beyonce and Jay-Z will survive. Everyone else may not be on the same level money-wise. It feels like we all are in a boat in the water and there is a big whirlpool ahead of us. We all are trying not to get sucked into it, but the whirlpool is huge and is looking to devour everyone. Time will tell how this will play out. In the meantime, keep stroking…. Thank you for checking out my Daily Thought and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.

Brett Jolly’s Daily Thought (Something else to think about)

This virus has the entire world on edge, and each day there seems to be another new chapter on the spread of this epidemic.  While most people have been concentrating on social distancing, other factors may soon come into play. Naturally, when people lose money or job opportunities, some may resort to crime in order to make ends meet. Even if the government decides to send checks to people in need, a lot depends on how soon that money gets here. I have heard stories that the checks may only be 2 to 3 weeks away. That is great news for those who can last that long monetarily. However, those who are without food and money right now may resort to dire needs in order to survive. If someone is hungry now, can they honestly wait 2 to 3 weeks to eat? This is an ideal time to check your place for possible break in opportunities. If you have a vulnerable area that thieves can exploit then you may be putting yourself at a huge risk. Fortify your place as best as you can, because thieves may be checking you out right now. Also, you need to consider something else. All the people imprisoned in jail right now are in danger, because it only take one contaminated inmate to contaminate the rest. This could result in deaths, huge lawsuits and disarray within the jail system. Unless a new plan can be constructed, authorities may have to release ‘a lot’ of inmates due to health and safety hazards. Some of those will have no money, no job and no chance at earning a substantial income during this crisis. What do you think they are going to do? Yes, many of them will also resort to crime, and you could easily become a victim. Many people are buying up guns, and doing so for a reason. We need to think smart, we need to be cautious and we need to prepare ourselves for any unlawful activity. This is so different for society, but the worst of it might not even be here yet. If you are someplace and you see someone looking around a lot to see if someone is watching them, then chances are they are looking to commit an illegal act. Get away. Also, when women drive to a certain spot, don’t just get out of the car when you park. Survey the area first to make sure it is safe before you exit. Get pepper spray or mace for self defense and learn how to apply it with both hands. Take note of ‘any’ strange behavior. Ignoring it could cost you or someone else. Until the government decides to send people money you will see people struggle. You never know how bad it can be until someone’s situation becomes dire. Be aware of everything. Thank you for checking out my Daily Thought, and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.
