Brett Jolly’s Daily Thought (Yesterday was Stevie Wonder’s birthday)

I realize that the rating of music is personal for most people. Someone who is liked a lot by a certain group of people may be disliked by others. ‘Rarely’ do I hear anything negative about the music of Stevie Wonder.  He started making records at a very early age and he put together (in my interpretation) some of the most incredible masterpieces in musical history.  As many big name artists that I have played for, I have never had the chance to play officially for him. I came close on several occasions though. Stevie changed the way music is written and to this day no one has come close to duplicating him. Here is a sample of one of my favorite songs from him:

Stevie also made it more acceptable for people to see blind performers in public. Many had a strong discomfort for that but Stevie was so great that people came out to see him anyway. He had tons of hit songs, but in order to truly appreciate Stevie you need to check out his B side of tunes (these are tunes that didn’t get heard much and hardly got radio play from him). Of course, there are some who just don’t like the music of Stevie, and they have a right to feel that way. However, when it came to music quality Stevie took music to a whole other level. He turned 70 years old yesterday and I hope he lives for another 70 years. If you are not familiar with his music, please Google him.  He is my favorite musical artist of all time. Hope you had a happy birthday, Stevie, and many, many more. Thank you for checking out my Daily Thought and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.
