Brett Jolly’s Daily Thought ( How the virus is having an effect on the music industry)

I guess it was only a matter of time before the music industry started changing its ways due to this virus. Miley Cyrus, Maddona, Pearl Jam and others have canceled their music related events due to the spread of this disease. Most artists don’t make a lot of money off the sales of their merchandise. The labels that promote them are usually the ones who benefit from that. However, the artists usually get the bulk of their money through their concerts. If artists are successful, then their concerts would normally generate large numbers of people. The coronavirus may destroy that entire industry. The same can probably be said for sports events as well. For a game a team might have a whole stadium full on fans in attendance. The fear of this virus is changing how we operate. How long can this change last? I know of local people who are having their events changed or canceled. I don’t think I have had that experience yet, but it could very well be on the horizon. This summer season can be a very compelling and revealing season for a lot of people. What we don’t know about this virus is driving fear into a lot of people. Someone asked me if I was scared. My response to that is “not yet.” Music is a large part of what I do. I would hate to see that eliminated. On the other hand, I want the world to be safe. To me that is most important. Let’s see what happens. Thank you for checking out my Daily Thought and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.
