I am not one of those fitness gurus. I honestly don’t know what works and what doesn’t work, but I think I can say this. At my age, often small pains can happen. For instance, sometimes when I play at church on Sunday mornings my legs hurt for some reason when I stand. The pain is very small but noticeable to me. However, once I start my day with either exercising or stretching it does wonders for how I feel. I discovered this lately and the difference has been awesome. I don’t think anyone enjoys pain, whether it is small or not. If taking a few minutes at the start of the day makes a difference then that is exactly what I am going to do. Ironically, I was already taking a lot of walks (especially around my neighborhood). I would walk a lot, but every once in a while my legs would still hurt from all the walking. That was when I discovered that getting on my exercise bike would alleviate the pain (along with stretching). I concluded that exercise is important, but the “proper” exercise was even more important. Basically I just “listened to my body.” Your health as well as your body can actually “tell you” what you need to do. Whenever I have a late night on Saturdays I usually feel extremely tired playing at church on Sunday mornings. Some times I would even fall asleep there (that was not a good look at all). Lately I made sure to exercise and stretch before heading to church (I have to be there at 7:30 am on Sundays). This has made a difference as well. Some people “just wake up and go” each morning. I may be wrong, but I think if you tone your body up with some stretching and exercising it might make for a better day. I do know that so far it is working with me. Time will tell if it is just coincidence. I hope to discover more things that can help me deal with my schedule. I hope you can learn from your body as well. Thank you for checking out my Daily Thought and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.
