People often get irritated and stressed out by other people. It could be over anything big or small, but often resentment builds within you and most times anger forms. While these people may have caused you much distress it is important to know when to forget all about them. How can you forget people who have purposely set out to ruin your life? Easily. When people have the power to push your buttons and control your emotions they won’t hesitate to do so. How much power they will have over you depends heavily on you. For instance, people at your job could aggravate the fool out of you. However, when you get home, those people are no longer with you. Your “thoughts” about what they did are now victimizing you. The more you think about it and dwell upon it, the more it is no longer about them, but rather “you.” You see, “you” are the one who is now abusing yourself. Every time you “think” about these people you are essentially causing your “own stress.” Continued stress can have a devastating effect on your health. You may not be able to control what others try to do to you, but you do have control over what you do to yourself. It is extremely important to know when to “let go.” In other words, you need to ignore those people when you are in your own place of solitude. Continuing to think about them only hurts you more, and you don’t need to give them that type of power. When you get out of that environment, think of “happy things” instead. When you do, you leave all that other stress behind, and your life should benefit as a result. Try it one day, and see for yourself. You might be very glad that you did.
