Listen, life has not always been easy. I have had my moments. I almost got hit by a car when I was really young. I have been shot at. I have encountered mad dogs. I was on a plane that had to abort it’s landing in the middle of an electrical storm. I have been on a train that derailed between Raleigh and Vance in North Carolina. I had a stroke. Yet through all of this I still managed to make it to this day. I have never been a man who makes a big issue out of my birthday. I used to go play basketball on my birthday just to see if I lost a step. All my steps are just about gone now (smile). Through everything I have realized that it is a blessing to be here. Many people only go so far in life. At some point we all have a date with destiny. I have managed to do a lot musically and I have played for some fairly big names in the music industry. KC and the Sunshine band, Earth, Wind and Fire, Teddy Pendergrass, The Whispers, Olivia Newtown John, Bonnie Raitt, Usher, Jill Scott, Rick Springfield and so many more that I can’t seem to remember at this point (old age will do that to you) (smile). For me, the past isn’t quite as important as my future. There are still things that I would like to accomplish, and hopefully if the Lord allows me to live long enough I will be able to do so. I want to make the most of my life and while I still have the chance I want to pursue my dreams. Staying stagnant is not for me. As long as I live, I intend to grow. Birthdays are milestones, but it is what you do between those milestones that dictate your true value to yourself (and others). It has been my pleasure to blog for you all these years. For those who have agreed with me, I thank you. For those who have disagreed with me, I thank you. Life is not what you remember, but rather what you learn. Hopefully, I am not finished yet. Thank you again for checking out my Daily Thought, and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.
