Brett Jolly’s Daily Thought (Phone scams)

They keep on calling me. The phone calls are labeled “Scam likely” and they call me now about 3 or 4 times a day. I almost always hang up on them. A few times I actually answered them. On some occasions I would get a recorded voice saying that I need to lower the interest rate off of my credit card. The recording never gives the number or identifies the card ever. After the recording then the phone hangs up. ALL my cards are in great standing and I don’t have a problem with any of them. On a couple of other occasions a live man would answer the phone. He would say one sentence and then hang up the phone before I got to say anything. I do realize that I have to learn how to block this particular number so that I won’t continue to get harassed. I am not sure what these people want from me but they keep on calling. Maybe they feel they can obtain private information from me if I answer enough phone calls. In that case they should be pleasantly surprised when I figure out how to block them entirely. There are “tons” of people in the world who will try to con you out of your money. I talked to someone the other day who knew of a woman that got a ransom call about her son. They told her that they kidnapped her boy and she would have to pay a lot of money to see him alive again. Right after the phone call her son walked through the door safe and sound. The scam game is very much alive. If you don’t want to be a victim then you need to recognize the traits. If someone calls you and tells you that your card payments are late make sure to ask them what card they are talking about. Make them give you information. Then find that card and call the number “on your own” to be sure. NEVER give out your card information to anyone who accuses  you of being delinquent. There are many other signs of a scam that you need to take note of. Be suspicious of everything. That can save you from possibly being ripped off.  I will check into this number and see if I can stop it permanently. Thank you for checking out my Daily Thought, and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.
