Brett Jolly’s Daily Thought (Today is the day for Bill Cosby’s sentencing: If you were the judge, what would you do?)

The long awaited sentencing for Bill Cosby is today. We will find out just how much jail time he will get (if he gets any). For those of you who didn’t know, Mr. Cosby was found “guilty” of drugging a woman and raping her.  Due to the statute of limitations, only one case was fresh enough for him to stand trial. Normally anyone found guilty of this infraction would experience jail time. For his crimes Cosby “should” be placed in jail, but if you were the judge, how would you sentence him? First off, here is the article on Cosby’s situation:

The big problem here is the fact that Cosby is 81 years old. Sentencing him to jail time would probably be the same thing as sentencing him to death. I highly doubt Cosby could survive the experience behind bars at that age. Of course, he could be placed in a minimum security environment but even that might be too much for him to endure. If he is to get jail time, would it be better to sentence him to death? Please keep in mind that Cosby has done “great things” for people, and he has given lots of money to charities and has been a great role model for a lot of people. I realize that none of this excuses what he did though. When you commit a crime you should do the time. If I were the judge for this case I would be very wary of how to handle it. Jailing any 81 year old man is a sensitive issue. Either way, we will learn today what fate awaits him. Let’s see how some of the “other” men accused  of sexual impropriety are handled. With the “Metoo movement” a LOT of prominent men are awaiting their trials. This could set off a tidal wave of indictments for other prominent men accused of bad sexual behavior. Let’s see what happens…. Thank you for checking out my Daily Thought and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.
