I have never been one to make a big issue out of my birthday. A lot of years I would go play basketball to just “see if I lost a step.” Well, those days are most certainly over. Considering what I went through this past year my birthday feels like a great blessing. In September I had a stroke and was paralyzed on my right side. I couldn’t say the word “computer.” However, after about 3 days (and a lot of prayers from a LOT of people) I managed to walk out of that hospital very close to 100 %. In fact, I even did a gig that same night I left. To add to all of this, I have been gigging heavily since. Last night at my Wednesday Night Event it was “extremely crowded” with people who wanted to come celebrate my birthday with me. It was beautiful. I saw many balloons and a big sign with my name on it. A ton of people came up to me to wish me well and it “felt” like a truly special night. The truth of the matter is that my birthday is actually “today,” March 1. I have another gig tonight and I have no idea if people will even show up for it (Mostly everyone showed up last night). Either way I aim to have fun and “hopefully” live the day in peace. To me, that is what constitutes a great day for me. I can’t control what other people do, so hopefully I won’t be asked to explain their intentions. Also, 2 of my kids came out to see me yesterday, and that was very cool. Birthdays are land marks to your life. To reach one is special, so I don’t take this lightly at all. Thanks in advance to all those who wish me a happy birthday. Thank you so much for checking out my Daily Thought and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.
