Brett Jolly’s Daily Thought (“Letting fame change you into something evil”)

Please keep in mind that I am not accusing anyone of anything. Until any and all accusations are proven then “what’s being said is only speculation.” However, I have been hearing that R&B superstars R Kelly and Usher have “allegedly engaged in evil behavior” that should tarnish their careers. It had been reported the R Kelly has some kind of cult involving women who are being kept by him from their families. He takes away their cell phones so they cannot contact their families and uses them for sex purposes. It had also been alleged that he brain washed the women. R Kelly’s age is listed as 50 years old. ¬†Usher allegedly gave genital herpes to some woman who is either suing him (or has sued him) in court. First off, I realize that everything you hear is not necessarily true. People will spread rumors without any verification to back them up. I don’t know if these stories are legit or not but I do know that this paints a very bad picture of the music industry. Fame can sometimes make people think that they are above everyone else. The problem is that they can often make other people feel that way as well. Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson once said that he actually envisioned having a mansion with a different woman in each room. I have heard other stories of celebrities who abused their fame to commit “perverted acts.” R Kelly has had issues before. He almost got in trouble before ¬†and should have learned from his past experiences. I actually played for Usher years ago in Washington DC and I could honestly say that he was one of the nicest people I have ever worked with. However time and fame can change a lot of people. The problem doesn’t just lay with them. Some people don’t realize that just because someone is famous it doesn’t necessarily make them good people. Those who have heard of Usher should have already known that he is currently married and was married before. If you knew he had a wife but still chose to sleep with him, then that says a lot about your character. R Kelly’s reputation has been well documented. If you want to be with someone who allegedly engages in that type of behavior then that says a lot about you as well. Most celebrities can only get away with what you allow them to do. Take the stars out of your eyes and take note that these people are only as human (and fallible) as you. Don’t let a person’s celebrity status blind you. Be secure with who you are and rise to your own level of superstardom. Thank you for checking out my Daily Thought and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.
