Brett Jolly’s Daily Thought (“What else can keep us healthy?”)

I was talking to someone the other day about things in life that have an effect on us. Some people attempt to make changes by focusing on the physical aspects, such as exercise and proper eating. However, is there anything else that can keep us healthy? How about being happy? I have heard many instances where “stress” will deteriorate a person from the inside out. I even know personal friends of mine who have stressed themselves to death. When you worry about everything, then you are mentally damaging your health through an emotional process. When you continually think about all the bad things that “could” happen then you are “in essence damaging yourself internally.” What good is working out if you destroy the process through your own self inflicted depression? The mind is a lot more powerful then you realize. People have been known to “depress themselves to death.” That is a mind function. What can you do to eliminate stress? Simple: Think more happy and secure thoughts. While there is a lot of negativity in the world you don’t have to focus on it all the time. Each day you get up and out of bed you have “yet another chance at life.” If you continue to think about all the bad things from the day before then you are only extending your negativity for 2 or more days. I am not telling people to be naive. Sure, there are things that happen in life that can be devastating, and there would be no reason to be happy about them. For the other things in life it should be important to remember that “stress is something that you allow someone else to put on you.” It only succeeds when you allow it in… Stop worrying about other people because you can’t control what they do. Stop worrying about circumstances that “could possibly happen but never do.” You don’t have to think each day that the world is going to cave in. Enjoy life in the best way that you can (and it is okay to smile as well). It won’t guarantee that your day will be great, but it will help immensely with your outlook on life.
