Brett Jolly’s Daily Thought (“The State of the State… of the world”)

Right now the world atmosphere doesn’t seem very harmonious. Right now it feels very combustible. Tensions are mounting and we appear to be inching closer to a confrontation with someone (or everyone). Countries are gassing their own citizens and missiles are being launched in retaliation. That retaliation is being followed up by more threats and right now we seem even closer to self annihilation than ever before. How real is this? I would think that most nations would not want to go to war, but when provocations reach this level how easy (or difficult) is it for us to avoid it? The current state of the world is something we all need to pay attention to. The feeling of security should be important to us all. Can diplomacy still work? When our leaders feel as though their rights are being violated then that is usually when tensions escalate. When we build up our military it is usually designed for moments like this.  I remember former President Obama saying that there is already enough weaponry in the world to blow us all up 6 times over. What does that tell you? What can we do? The activities of the next few months will be important. As bad as this sounds, it is still quite possible that all of this could be a set up (a smoke screen). The main big guns (Russia and the US) could be setting this up to divert attention from investigations about illegal activity. Before all this happened there was speculation of collusion between the Trump administration and Russia in regards to our election process. Now it appears that our attentions have been diverted. Let’s not lose focus of “what could really be happening.” We don’t know the conversations that go on behind closed doors. Time will tell us just how real this is. In the meantime, it might not be a bad idea to “pray.” Thank you for checking out my Daily Thought, and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.
