Years ago a lady asked me to take her pictures with her own camera. I took several pics and after it was finished she said that I should go into photography. She said that I had a good eye for it. When I was a little boy I used to be an artist. I loved to draw comic book super heroes and even sold them. I got out of it because it took up too much time and I had other interests that I wanted to pursue more (most notably basketball). A couple of years ago I started doing my weekly open mic event and I wanted to find different ways to promote it. I thought for a while and then I came up with the concept of taking pictures of female models holding my red bass guitar and putting them on advertisements. Well, it worked. Since then I have done literally hundreds of model shoots and this has helped to promote my events. While I recognize that I still have more to learn, the experience has been fun. Each model is different and as a photographer I have to find out what makes each one smile. I often tell jokes just to relax the atmosphere (especially for those who are doing this for the very first time). I never tell them what to wear (I simply say wear whatever outfit you think you would like to be seen in) and I try to learn how to shoot their best sides quickly. Normally it takes about 20 minutes or so for a model to start feeling comfortable. Until then I just keep on snapping pictures until the mood is right. I still want to find even more ways to improve my skills and make my shots even better. While some models are easier to shoot than others (some can be VERY particular) I have to make it work for them the best way I can. I am someone who loves artistry, whether it be musically or visually. I only concern myself with what looks good in the camera lens and most times I don’t every realize what happened until I get back home and view the pictures. Thank you for checking out my Daily Thought over the years and thank you for viewing my models. As always I wish you the very best that life has to offer. Have a great weekend.
