It is invigorating to see new jazz artists who stay true to their music. I like this lady because she sings jazz and she plays it, and she does both exceptionally well. Being a bass player myself (who also sings) I realize how difficult that can be. This lady is young and established. If you are a jazz lover and you have not heard of her then I invite you to Google her name. This particular video clip is 29 minutes long, but if you have the time I hope you can check it out. Great jazz music should never become extinct. Also, it should never be re-labeled. They may want to take some old tunes and change the genres to “smooth jazz” but that doesn’t mean that you can’t still find the authentic “real thing.” This lady is authentic and it is a pleasure to see her in the music spotlight. Today I would love to present to you Esperanza Spalding.
