I don’t know about you, but I “can’t stand freezing” during the winter months. Here in Philadelphia some of our winters have been downright “brutal.” Last year wasn’t bad until we reached February. Once we got into that month we experienced “many days of arctic temperatures and heavy snow storms.” The year before that was even “worse.” Even though I was born in March, I “still” prefer the hot summer weather. When it comes to winter there isn’t much you can do about the outside. Mother Nature will only do what’s “natural.” However, if you want to remain snug and warm “indoors” then I strongly suggest you make a visit to one of those “home improvement places.” Here we have stores like “Lowes” and “Home Depot.” If you don’t know much about heat preservation their experts can tell you what you “need” to know. For a LOT of homes (or apartments) heat will escape through your windows. There is a form of plastic that you can purchase that will “insulate” your windows, keeping the warm air inside and not allowing any of the cold air outside to creep in. This might be great to get for the cold months ahead. You may not be able to open your windows, but who wants to open windows during the winter anyway? Also, heat rises, which means that cold air will travel along the floor. If you don’t own a rug then now might be the time to get one. Any cracks or holes in your place could also be avenues for heat to escape. You can purchase things that will clog up these holes. When it comes to this winter, “what you don’t know can cost you.” Do yourself a favor and just go visit one of these home remedy places today. It just might make the difference in whether or not you actually smile this winter. Thank you for checking out my Daily Thought and as always I wish you the very best that life has to offer.
